The Senate of Kano University of science and technology released a statement stipulating therein a PENALTY prescribing a payment of 17000 naira by the ENTIRE students of the university, for an alleged protest carried out by SOME students, causing damage to various school properties around the 2nd of may 2018 due to the death of a level 300 Biology student named Faruk Abubakar in a river closely situated near the school. With utmost respect, I make bold to say this decision cannot stand as it is contrary to the principles of natural justice, fairness, equity and good conscience as enshrined in the constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended 2011.
